Women were actively present at all historically decisive moments in Western culture, but they became invisible. Why is it so difficult to find a commemorative street, square or public space named after a woman (other than a queen or saint), being a direct and evident way of acknowledging the presence and building discourse and history? (Muxi, 2018). Men's unrestricted access to women's bodies limits their ability to gain access to the city. This thought is within the logic of modernist planning. The Bruta Structure project portrays the symbols of São Paulo and the fetishism for phallocentric representation, opening a reflection on its power structures and traumas.
